Days 1 to 3: Taman Negara jungle trekking and campingThe trek begins at the edge of the park in Kuala Tahan. After the canopy walk at 30ft above the ground you’ll walk northeast along the Tembeling river. Towards the end of the day you’ll set up camp in the middle of the jungle and sleep under the stars surrounded by the mysterious sounds of the jungle.Early the next morning you’ll pack up and head deeper into the rainforest. You’ll visit a couple of small and larger caves and on the way the guide will tell you all about life in the rainforest. After your second night under the stars you’ll continue through the thick jungle across small rivers and the hilly paths. For the last stretch you’ll board a small boat and see the jungle from the water for a completely different perspective. |

Best time to travel to Taman Negara National Park: March to September. From November – December many activities are cancelled due to the monsoon. What to bring: Water (enough for 3 days) or purification tablets, backpack, torch/ head torch, waterproof jacket or poncho, sleeping bag, pillow, mat, hiking boots or sturdy sandals, cap or sunhat, swimming gear, towel, light comfortable clothes, insect repellent, sunscreen, toiletries.
